Spring Break Pause: no Big Plans, just Big Moments
When Spring is almost here, I get excited because it comes one of my favorite things: flowers everywhere! 🌸🌼🌺
Living in Texas, I quickly learned that the state flower, the bluebonnet 🪻, is truly something special. These little bursts of blue paint the highways and fields in the most stunning way, making every drive feel like a postcard.
We’re now starting Spring Break, and we’re hitting pause on the usual routine. My kids are out of school, and as a family, we’ve decided to keep things simple—no big trips, no tight schedules. Since we traveled for Christmas (hello, amazing time with friends in Mexico!) and have plans for summer adventures visiting more U.S. National Parks, for us this break is all about slowing down and making it easy. We’ll be staying around Austin, working a few days part-time while the kids enjoy fun activities and time with friends in the mornings, taking longer walks with Dobby in the afternoons, going on a couple of short day trips to explore nearby gems, and simply soaking in the season at a relaxed pace.
🐶 Dobby loving Spring walks!
Spring has this incredible way of renewing everything—longer days, more sunshine, life blooming all around, and a fresh energy in the air. Of course, it’s not all perfect (yep, allergies kick in, and… it’s snake 🐍 season!), but there’s something about this time of year that makes everything feel a little lighter. I always think of it as a moment to take a deep breath, soak in the sunlight and fresh air, and use that burst of energy and optimism to gain momentum for the months ahead. Spring is when all the hibernation ends, nature wakes up, and somehow, I feel like parts of me wake up too—ready to embrace life more fully.

If you’re taking a break this week too, I hope you find moments to truly enjoy it. Whether it’s a big trip, a simple staycation, or just some extra time outside, take the opportunity to soak in the little joys. If a moment feels amazing—even if it's just the warmth of the sun on your skin while admiring some flowers—pause and be present. Observe every color, every sensation, every sound... moments like that are like a spa for your mind and soul. And if you're in Texas, go find some bluebonnets—they're only here for a short time, and they never disappoint!
